Beautiful antique earthenware Easter lamb from Alsace.
The inside was glazed to allow for firing. The outside remained untreated.
The holes on the top serve to fasten the lamb together so that the halves remain against each other for baking.
Beautiful item dating from 1880-1900
On one half, you can see that a chip is missing at the top.
