Quiet
If I quickly go shopping in the supermarket, a shopping cart is first disinfected for me.
When I'm inside it's quiet.
There are about five other people walking around, including a friend of mine.
We say hello and wave to each other from a distance. After all, it is not the intention, and also very understandable, to talk.
Then we both go our separate ways again. It feels empty.
Half an hour later, a sweet card from her is in the mailbox. that breaks the silence for a moment.
Another friend who is also a customer here comes to pick up her order at the door.
No pleasant conversation and no hug that we all so desperately need right now.
We text and call, but it's different... so quiet...
When I think about the misery around us, just waving obviously means nothing and I am also very grateful that we have been spared so far.
We enjoy the sun in our garden and the small wonders around us. Because right now we should not lose sight of the beautiful. The chickadees that have their nest ready in the nesting box and the beautiful heron on land that returns every day. And then the blossom.
A little more time now to enjoy these things.
I am now often asked how I do this when purchasing. Well, just like everyone else, I can't go shopping. I also mainly sit at home and don't experience anything.
At least nothing that is fun to read and that is why I will no longer write stories on Tuesdays for the time being. Not because I wouldn't want to, but there's not much to say. It is not only quiet around me, but it is especially quiet within me.
I will continue to update my website on Tuesdays for the time being. Luckily I still have some stock, so you can just keep shopping with me.
I hope we will all come out of this okay. But I know it won't be and that it will be accompanied by sadness. Unfortunately, we cannot control all of this ourselves. We can only stick to the rules and be kind to each other.
